New Mini Leak Locator for Quick Outdoor Leak Surveys and Indoor Leak Detection
SebaKMT (Germany) has launched the HL 50, a mini leak locator of high accuracy and great technological simplicity. The HL 50 weighs only 400 grams and can be used outdoors on water pipe networks or inside buildings to examine house service connections. It can detect ground-borne noise (the top sound) and structure-borne vibrations (the body sound), and is capable of detecting leaks at remote contact points even when the sound is muffled or the ambient noise level high.
Three frequency settings (Hi, Lo, and All) shut down unwanted noises and interferences in the locator’s immediate environment, allowing only the leak noise to reach the operator’s ears.
Equipped with a sensitive acoustic sensor, frequency filter, and high-end headphones, the mini leak locator picks up the vibrations generated by the friction of the water escaping the pipe, transforms them into a distinctive audible sound, and displays the noise level as both a two-digit value and a bar graph. Moreover, the HL 50 also stores and displays the leak noise intensity at the previous measurement point, which makes it even easier to see the change in noise level from one measuring point to another - the higher the numerical or analogue value on the display, the closer the leak.
Various interfaces allow easy connection of additional accessories, which enhances the instrument’s leak detection capabilities: high-end ground microphones for full-professional leak pinpointing, a listening rod for weak soil conditions, and different probe tips, probe extensions, and a tripod to adapt to conditions on site.
The HL 50 is not only a good solution for quick valve-spindle or above-the-ground leak surveys, but also an ideal tool for indoor leak detection, where the operating space is narrow and the ambient light low. Its small size combined with wireless headphones ensures maximum mobility in confined space, while the backlit display offers perfect readability even under poor light conditions.
The mini leak locator is equipped with SebaKMT’s easyGo guidance system, which suggests the next logical operation step and takes the user through the entire operation. The user interface is extremely simple and intuitive: with only two thumb-operated buttons, the user can access filter settings, start the measurement, stop it, or “mute” it.
Not only accurate and simple, but also designed for long performance, the HL 50 can be operated for more than 50 hours continuously. Advanced power management technology and two AA batteries ensure that the mini leak locator is always ready to use. Lightweight, precise, and efficient, the HL 50 is an affordable leak detection tool that shouldn’t be missing from the toolbox of any leakage engineer.

Partech (UK) have launched two innovative new products: an addition to their hugely successful WaterWatch² range and an easy to use Triple Validation Unit.
Partech’s first release adds to the pioneering WaterWatch² range. The WaterTechw² pH8000 Sensor is a specialised electrode to take pinpoint accurate pH and temperature readings across a range of water treatment scenarios.
Suitable for use in surface, waste and drinking water environments, the flat-surfaced electrode features an Extended Path Reference (ERP) and a gel fill to act against contaminants whilst utilising Partech’s tried and tested self-cleaning technology.
Partech’s Sales and Marketing Director, Angus Fosten, said: “We’re really excited with the release of this new sensor. It’s robust design and flat face electrode are great for producing accurate and reliable readings in wastewater applications.”
The flexible self-cleaning mounting system that is offered with the dip sensors has been proven to be highly effective and very low cost. There is no need for expensive, maintenance hungry compressors and no wiper blades to gather rags. This self- cleaning option can be applied to inlet, activated sludge and final effluent applications, greatly extending the time between manual intervention.”
The second of Partech’s January announcements is an easy to use Triple Validation Unit. Already an accepted industry standard in many water treatment facilities, the user-configurable triple validation algorithms allow operators to ensure robust and reliable control of parameters such as pH and Chlorine.
Regarding the new Triple Validation Unit, Angus said: “We are offering an easy to use unit to perform triple validation. We have achieved a robust, reliable product for the international market.”

An Autonomous Solution to Monitor and Manage Water
Ijinus (France) offers a wide range of services with cutting-edge technology to make water monitoring smarter.
Ijinus level sensors can be installed wherever you want and wherever you need. The device is totally self-sufficient in energy and communication with the battery and the GSM transmitter. In this way, you can follow your network exactly how you want; increase and decrease (up to 10 meters), receive alerts - All this technology is concentrated in housing smaller than a bottle of water. It is possible to connect an overflow detector to the main device if you need to have more information at a determined level, generate action (to a PLC), receive alerts via text, mail etc.
If you need to monitor an area, the wireless solution allows the installation of up to 15 devices programmed to communicate together. The main device retrieves all data and sends it in one text. With all these combined solutions you can follow and manage your network on the internet, from your computer, your tablet or your smartphone. Plus it is possible to retrieve data on your computer to analyse and combine with other data sets.
With Ijinus solutions you know precisely how your network is at any given moment, can follow it to stay up to date and be alerted if the situation requires it. Ijinus provides logical, autonomous solutions for monitoring flow measurement (with Doppler sensors), water quality (with digital probes), storm water, ground water, tanks and rain.
