Low Cost Veterinary Care in Tampa. The Secret Is Out: Full Service
Over the past year, the Simon Fund at Harmony Vet Care has contributed more than $21,000 towards the medical bills for animals in need. The funds were donated by friends and supporters to help families needing financial assistance with spay/neuter surgeries, emergency surger- ies, vaccines and flea prevention. What that means to the community is priceless as it ensures families can stay together. We contacted Harmony Vet Care
when The New Barker was alerted by a volunteer foster family with Dogs On Deployment. A retired veteran was about to become homeless, and was reaching out for help in finding a temporary foster home for his dog, Gohan, until he was back on his feet again. Gohan, a Pit Bull mix, also needed to be neutered. In addition to their Simon Fund,
“We were happy to be able to help,” said Kiel Felts, Director
of Operations with Harmony Vet Care. “As an Army veteran and foster volunteer for Dogs On Deployment, myself, it was especially important to me.”
The Tampa clinic has seen so many
people who have benefited from the grant over the last few months due to job loss. “We had a family come in that were in the process of moving out of their apartment because they couldn’t afford it,” said Kiel. “But first, they wanted to care for their dog and came to Harmony Vet Care for the surgery which was covered by the grant.” Harmony Vet Care also has a walk-in

Harmony Vet Care received a grant from Florida Animal Friends to provide free spay/neuter surgeries for families with Pit Bulls and Pittie mixes. The free offer includes pain medications and a rabies vaccination. Gohan’s human arranged to have him transported to Harmony Vet Care for his surgery and a foster home was found. We hope to be catching up with Gohan soon, once his veteran has found a home.
