JACQUI SILLA & ANGEL Many of our readers have met Jacqui through her photographic work for The New Barker. She has also assisted us on features about dog behavioral issues since 2007. Her skills as a dog trainer have helped many dog lovers, over the years, using a very sensible, kind and gentle style.

DEBRA STARR & JIPSEE An advocate for the underdog, you’ll often find Debra volunteering at Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS). She’s helped us push for a ban on retail sales of puppies and kittens in Manatee County (a work in progress). Part 3 of her Behind The Scenes series on MCAS is on page 42.
ANNEYARBROUGH & RUDEE Who doesn’t smile at the picture of a dog? Anne’s photographic style has an added dimension of understated humor that makes us laugh out loud or causes our hearts to skip an extra beat. She visited dog-friendly Historic Spanish Point in Osprey for our feature on page 26.

CAROL MOORHEAD & DEXTER Carol has lived with many pets over the years. When she realized how few pictures she had of them, it became her mission to capture and preserve the beautiful bond of kindred spirits between humans and their animals. She contributed to our story on kids with Down syndrome on page 50.
HEATHER SCHULMAN & PUCK An integral part of our team for 10+ years, Heather continues to represent and do research for The New Barker on such things as the housing com- mittee for St. Petersburg’s Better City for Pets initiative, while also coordinating event sponsorships, like Food & Brews. Read her Bottom SUP piece on page 22.
JAIME SEYMOUR-NEWTON & BANNER Covering Miami- Dade and the Florida Keys since 2011, Jaime helped us tackle the subject of grief in this issue. Her stunning photo journalistic style accompanies our feature, begin- ning on page 58. Important stories like these are helping us cope with, and talk more openly about, the death of our pets.
