Dancers & Dogs

A randomly wild idea – pairing ballet dancers with dogs – turned into a worldwide phenomenon for two professional photographers. When Kelly Pratt and Ian Kreidich embarked on their project in 2017, they set a goal to photograph 100 dancers and 100 dogs. What would become of the project and how long it would take were the unknown quantities at the time. Two years of work with the St. Louis Ballet and 126 dogs culmi- nated into a beautifully-designed hard cover book, Dancers & Dogs. The first edition, bundled with a 2020 calendar, is currently sold out. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Kelly and Ian also work with Stray Rescue and the St. Louis Ballet on their annual project,


The Muttcracker. Shelter dogs and cats are paired with the dancers, who are in costume from the Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker.
