Bella’s Stats: 11 years young Parsons Russell Terrier with American Bull Dog mix.
Bella’s backstory: A very pregnant mom was picked up as a stray running along I-275. The next day, at the shelter, Bella was one of nine puppies born. Her leg had to be amputated when she was still a puppy at the shelter. Bella was soon adopted from the SPCA Tampa Bay by Jennifer Rogan in October 2008. Bella gets along with everyone, including her housemate Emily the cat. She sometimes misses Logan, her canine companion, adopted from Pet Pal Animal Shelter. She’s pretty sure her human Jennifer misses Logan almost every day.
BELLA’S FAVORITE THINGS
Favorite toy: Anything with a squeaker. She can pull the squeaker and stuffing out of any toy in under two minutes.
Favorite food: She is a chowhound and especially loves ice-cream. She’ll never turn down a Pup Cone at McDonald’s. Peanut butter is a favorite regular snack. Let’s just say she embraces her curves.
Favorite activity: She loves taking walks around Safety Harbor. Sometimes she strolls on her own. Sometimes she glides along in her very own doggie stroller. Car rides are also a favorite activity.
Favorite place: The Safety Harbor Marina is perfect for bird and people watching. She also loves the beach.
Favorite accessory: She’s a collar hound and has quite a nice collection. A girl can’t be seen in the same collar two times in one week.
Favorite spot in the house: Mom’s bed, the best place to catch a nap or two or three. Who’s counting, anyway?
Favorite season: Winter. In Florida.
Favorite word: Flawsome. It’s someone who embraces her “flaws” and knows she’s awesome regardless.
Favorite diva habit: As a confirmed spoiled rotten diva, Bella demands attention. Everything must be about her. She “talks” to Jennifer to let her know what she wants. There is no ignoring this girl.
Favorite human: Jennifer, of course. They are each other’s constant
companion.They travel the state together to dog-friendly venues, events and activities. “She’s living her best life now,” said Jennifer, who volunteers to walk the dogs at Pinellas County Animal Services two times a week. “Why do you think she’s my favorite human?”
