All change as Chamber reveals new identity and Cannock base

Chris Plant, director of the Chamber, explained the changes to event attendees and said: “Our proposal is to add the word ‘Cannock’ to make us the Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce has been accepted by our Chamber council and the GBCC group. The reason for this is so that this regional Chamber has a stronger geographical identity in the business community which it serves.

group, outside of our region, had previously voiced concerns about what and where ‘Chase’ actually is. “We as locals are familiar with


the name but others are not, and by adding the largest town within our authority area to our name, this will provide clarity to which business community this Chamber represents. “Although we are now called the


Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce, we will continue to support the businesses which are located in the likes of Hednesford, Rugeley, Burntwood and South Staffordshire too, which make up a large proportion of Cannock Chase Chamber’s membership base. “The Chamber want to be at the


heart of this thriving and wonderful area, and we will continue to celebrate all things Cannock Chase and support our town centre traders during the development of the new McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.” The Chamber also revealed that


it now has a base in the centre of Cannock, on Queen Street. As part of the rebrand, all


signage in the Cannock Chase Chamber of Commerce’s regional hub has been changed, alongside

logos featured on Chamber communications and materials. Mr Plant also welcomed three


new committee members, and a vice-president to the Chamber’s Council alongside current president Martyn Jupp, who confirmed that he will be extending his tenure as president for a further two years. Paul Reeves, from Stone Financial Services, Amazon’s Neil Williams, and Matt Small, from T150, were also appointed onto the Chamber’s council. The trio will serve a tenure of two years.


David Mitchell, managing


director of the Marketing People, joins Gill Durkin, business development director at Performance Through People and Chris Wheeler from Auditel for a two-year tenure as vice-president. Mr Mitchell, speaking after his


appointment, said: “Without sounding corny, it is an honour to be asked to join the council as vice- president. “I’m looking forward to helping


as many people as possible, in the right way in the local area.”
