Productivity campaign to make return for fourth year running

By Jessica Brookes

A campaign which aims to boost productivity and leadership skills across Greater Birmingham will return in 2020, with a boosted events listing. Greater Birmingham Chambers

of Commerce's (GBCC) month- long Growth Through People campaign is back for a fourth year, taking place between 2 March and 2 April 2020. Delivered by the GBCC and a

range of partners, Growth Through People includes free training sessions, workshops and events alongside research and thought leadership content published on the Chamber's digital channels. In 2019 the campaign had 500

delegates attend its 16 events, and digital thought leadership advice and guidance reached 3.1 million on social media. Aston University and Curium Solutions are backing this year's campaign as headline sponsors. The 2020 campaign will feature

for the first time a one-day conference on 2 April at Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conference Centre, University of Birmingham. The conference will take a

closer look at responsible leadership, attracting and engaging talent, unlocking potential and employee resilience.

had already seen her help victims of eating disorders during her time as Miss Indiana, came to the fore again when she and Martin worked with Snowball Express, an organisation which helps children of fallen military in the US. “We were talking about fame

one night, and he said he didn’t want the fame to be in vain. It can’t be just fame for fame’s sake to pay the bills. “Martin would go and speak at

Snowball Express events. We would host families at race tracks, offer them VIP experiences, get them to meet him in the car. It was great. We made great connections with families. We met 3,000 people in Dallas. A lot of kids felt ostracised at school – they have not only lost their loved ones, they are uprooted from their existing homes.” Today the Plowmans – who were married in Florida in 2016 - live in

embracing the challenges facing the printing industry with relish. “It is extremely competitive. Almost weekly there is another print company going under. There has been the influx of digital but digital has been so saturated, people still love the touch and feel of print.” As an example of the vision of

GBCC, said: “Growth Through People has gone from strength to strength in recent years. “For 2020, we are incredibly

excited to be launching the Growth Through People conference in addition to the campaign's traditional four weeks of free events, workshops and digital content.
