Riverside Park Boardwalk Replacement Hoveton Parish Council has received notice that the Broads Authority is due to replace the boardwalk between Riverside Park and Hoveton’s viaduct moorings, with work due to begin on 28th

October. The project will see the installation of a 100% recycled plastic boardwalk

which will last a significant time into the future, with the new boardwalk taking the exact same route as the previous wooden one. The boardwalk will be totally closed during the full period of works, though there will be access as usual on the adjacent paths and sites right up to each end of the boardwalk (signs will be provided by the Broads Authority to advise of diversions and restrictions).

RAF Benevolent Fund Your Parish Council was recently contacted by the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, a leading welfare charity for those serving and those who have served in the RAF, as well as their families. The RAF Benevolent Fund provides a range of support, from financial assistance and independent living help to emotional and mental wellbeing support. In addition, they recently launched a new Community Engagement Worker scheme to tackle social isolation and loneliness amongst the RAF family across Norfolk by helping older RAF veterans get involved in their local communities.

The RAF Benevolent Fund estimates that one in three people in Norfolk knows someone who has served or is serving in the Royal Air Force and they would like the help of local people with reaching out to these individuals and making them aware of the support available. If you know any RAF veterans who may benefit from the support of the RAF Benevolent Fund, please call 0300 102 1919 or visit www.rafbf.org.
