WROXHAM AND HOVETON LIONS CLUB Not a lot to report this month, but now summer is over we shall start preparing for our Christmas activities. We will update you next month.
The next event is a Craft Fair on Sunday October 6th, 10AM to 3PM at Broadland Youth and Community Centre, Stalham Road, Hoveton. Our Christmas Craft Fair takes place on 17th November. Any one who would like a table on either date, please contact me on 07850091570 for further details.
Our tombola stall has now finished until next summer. Thanks to all who supported us this year. The proceeds are going to NARS (Norfolk Accident Rescue Service), a very deserving cause who have saved many lives with their fast response times.
The shop in the Precinct {next Hotel Wroxham) has also had a good summers trading. We are always looking for good quality clothing and bric a brac to sell, so if you are having a sort out please think of us, because without your help we would not be able to continue to help all those deserving causes. Collections can be arranged - just ring me on 07850091570 and I will do the rest.
Anyone who feels they would like to become a “ Lion” and help in the community please come along to one of our Tuesday meetings. 2nd and 4th Tuesdays are business nights all others are social evenings where we have fun and laughs. The winner of this month’s charity draw is Jackie Dawson from Hoveton who donated goods to our charity shop. £100 will be sent to her nominated cause, which is Fishing for Forces who help service personal returning from tours of duty.

We have been very short of bowls players this year. Jean Barnett has run the bowls so efficiently for many years but feels she can no longer do so. If we don’t find someone to take over there will be no bowls next year which is a real shame. Many thanks to Jean, she has done a brilliant job. Social Programme for the coming month:
