FROM THE PRESIDENT Paul Davis
Happy New Year, Folks! I am sending
this message with much anticipation of a year full of promise and great success for all the fairs and expos in the Sunshine State. The Fair Season is upon us and I had the
pleasure and privilege to attend the opening day of the Manatee County Fair as they launched the Florida Fair season into full swing. There are still many Fairs to be held between now and convention time. With that being said, now is the time to take a road trip, enjoy the beautiful Florida weather and seek out some outstanding Florida fairs and the delicious food, exhibitors and vendors they have to offer. Not to men- tion, it would be another excuse to pal around with some, dare I say, “seasoned” Federation friends and may spark some new ideas that you’re looking to integrate at your fair! Speaking of friends, we had a great turnout for our annual “Fair Part-
ners Shootout.” The Shootout was held again at the FishHawk Sporting Clays in Lithia, FL. We are honored to have partnered with NICA and OABA to offer our fair industry friends another great opportunity to network and have fun while doing so. We thank our sponsors for this event (see page 46). We have some managers retiring, new managers stepping up, new
managers coming in. Best wishes to all, and please make them feel welcome to this great industry. The 2019 FFF Convention and Zone 2 meeting is right around the
corner and we’re gearing up to offer you the best workshops, panels and discussion topics in the state! The opportunities are endless and we hope you will join us for this year’s event. It will be held at the Re- naissance World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida from May 16-18. Save the date for this event for it is people like you who make this or- ganization what it is! Always, Paul
