THE PENSACOLA INTERSTATE FAIR IS BLESSED!!!

All of the usual preparations and excitement was in oper-

ation for the opening of the 2018 Pensacola Interstate Fair, October 19th through the 28th. There is nothing like the weeks before when, as a fair manager, you are looking ahead for a good report on your weather Apps. All looked favorable except for a low pressure system down in the lower Carribean which only had a 20% chance of develop- ing into anything. All was proceeding as nor- mal with plans for a great Fair. The exhibits were all being set up. The concessionaires were arriving on sched- ule. The Reithoffer Mid- way was arriving with their usual spectacular midway and the enter- tainment was signed up and proceeding accord- ingly. All was well!!! Suddenly excitement turned into “OMG” now

20

that the small low pres- sure system has devel- oped into a major hurri- cane and it's predicted to hit the Northwest Florida coast. Nothing now to do but PRAY, PRAY, PRAY. God blessed us and at the last minute the hurri- cane took a slight turn to the east and Pen- sacola was spared the devastating disaster that struck Panama City. Pensacola received only very mild winds and small amounts of rain. With sadness and concern for our neighbors, it was evi-

dent everything was well as the 2018 Fair opened with a special Dollar Day promotion which saw a record crowd flood our gate. With the exceptions of three days of rain, the Fair was a great success. The entertainment line- up ,all free with admission, was Sugar Ray, Craig Camp- bell, High Valley, Moccasin Creek , Elvis Tribute Show, Dusty Sanderson, White Tie Rock Ensemble, Eudora Farms, Swifty Swine Show and the ever popular AG- VENTURE BARN. Reithoffer Midway was ever present with their spectacular completely LED lighted Midway of 62 rides and attractions. We're so thankful for a successful 2018 Fair and we now

move forward to planning the 2019 Fair October 17th through 27th. “GOD IS GOOD”
