Circus Time in Midleton as Duffy’s Circus Arrives in Town

ton this week as Duffy’s cir- cus comes to town on Thurs- day and Friday, 9 and 10 August and the venue once again will be Market Green next to Tesco. Ireland’s Premier Circus
will bring top talent from around the world to cele- brate the 250th
anniversary
of the modern Circus in a new 2018 international pro- gramme for all the family. A visit to Duffy’s circus will be a great treat for all the chil- dren before they go back to school. Watch out for ‘’The Flying Reg10’’ flying tra- peze, a breath taking finale featuring six flyers in the air at the same time. A daring feat never seen before in Ire- land. Be amazed by ‘The Wheel

The modern circus art of manipulating laser lights showing a combination of lights and music resulting in a dazzling eruption of colour and wonder that will leave you breathless. Never seen in a circus before. So all roads from Midle-
ton and East Cork will point to Market Green for the opportunity to see Duffy’s wonderful circus this Thurs- day and Friday - a great day out for all the family.

Community First Responders to Hold Household Appeal

Youghal Community First Responders, together with Lidl Ireland, have announced the installation of the 7th public access defibrillator at Lidl shop Youghal. Speaking with Te East Cork Jour- nal, Patrick McCarthy (Scheme Coordinator), said, “We would like to thank Caroline and the staff at Lidl for their fundraising efforts which allowed us to place the defibrillator at Lidl, which is another key place in the town. As usual also, we’d like to thank the people of Youghal for their constant support which allows the provision and placement of these potentially lifesav-
ing devices.”
Youghal Credit Union has kindly donated the cost of another defibrilla- tor which will be placed at their building, and Youghal Rugby Club will be getting their new one wired up this week. Tere are still key places, such as housing estates, where Patrick and his team are keen to get devices set up. To that end, they are planning a fundraising Household Appeal, asking each household in the various estates to donate €2 towards the cost of a defibrillator, which is €1,500 plus €500 for the outer box.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine has decided to refuse a Trial Licence to conduct aquaculture and a Foreshore Licence to Mr Richard Guerin, Ballygeaney, Ballycotton, Co. Cork, to assess the suitability of a site for the cultivation of oysters using bags and trestles on the foreshore in Ballycotton Bay, Co. Cork, SITE REF: T05/488A.
