Wembury Marine Centre Wembury Beach boasts some of the
Haldon Forest Park For an active stroll or bike ride in
the forest, rewarded with sweeping views across the countryside, visit Haldon Hill near Exeter. All trails are clearly coded for ability, from the complete beginner to ex- perienced mountain biker. New for this year is the Gruffalo Spotters Trail based on the bestselling children’s book character, complete with activity packs available from the ranger’s office and an interactive app for smart phones. best rockpools in the UK. They also host the delightful ‘rockpool safaris’ led by knowledgable conservation officers. The safaris last for around an hour-and-a-half and are guided by the very knowledgeable marine centre staff, who will help you find and identify the crustaceans in the rock pools. Pirate Days in Brixham Brixham Harbour comes alive with pirate shenanigans every Thursday during
the school summer holidays, with free laughs and entertainment on the street. Activities include soak the pirate; balloon modeling; puppet shows; arts and crafts workshops; fancy dress competitions; photo shoots; live music; and more Jack Sparrow looka- likes than you can swing a parrot at. While in the mood for piracy visit the Golden Hind replica of Sir Francis Drake’s famed ship.
