The hard-working BTHA team

visitors to the stand. The show felt busier than previous years and the new Gallery expansion seemed to work very well with the increased number of high-quality exhibitors driving strong footfall. There was real excitement around our stand from buyers and media and this certainly had us buzzing too.” David Martin, managing director of KD UK, commented that it was the fi rst time KD UK had showcased its whole portfolio at Toy Fair and that it was interesting to see the visitor’s reactions to the capabilities of the group. He said: “The show resulted in positive feedback from retailers and we are already looking forward to next year’s show where we hope to ‘wow’ everyone that little bit more.”

Epoch Making Toys accepts champagne from the BTHA’s Simon Pilling for being the fi rst company to rebook for 2015.

John McDonnell, managing director of Galt Toys, admitted that Toy Fair gave the company the perfect opportunity to showcase its new products for 2014, adding: “The show had terrifi c attendance, and despite opinion that the toy industry has had a disappointing 12 months, the number of leading national and independent retailers and trade professionals who we’ve met on our stand was excellent.” Darrell Jones, marketing director at Bandai UK, told me that it was a successful show for the company after moving to a new location and unveiling a new stand. “It received many positive comments and we witnessed an increased footfall from buyers and media throughout the show,” he said.

Thierry Bourret, managing director at Asobi, said:

“We had back-to-back appointments throughout the show and have since had 450 different leads to follow up, so it is fair to say that the 2014 Toy Fair was a real triumph.”

And these are just a selection of the comments

I received from the industry, more can be found in our Touching Base feature on page 42. Simon Pilling summed up his reaction to the feedback: “We are very grateful for the feedback we’ve had so far and are looking forward to making our 62nd Toy Fair even better.” We’ll see you all there next year; 2015’s show runs across 20-22 January.
