2014 CT Holistic Health Practitioner Directory The Door Opener’s 2014 Holistic Health Practitioner Directory offers our readers over 120 practitioner choices in over 80 different categories. What these individuals share is their holistic approach to maintaining your health and facilitating your healing. This is an annual directory, so please save it for reference throughout the year. Most of the practitioners in our Directory have email addresses, as well as their own websites. Links are provided directly to their sites in our online version of the Directory. Please explore their services and think about how they can join your personal healthcare team.

Holistic healthcare seeks optimal integration of body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The caregiver treats the patient as a whole person, developing a partnership with them while emphasizing personal responsibility. It is a system of interaction and growth. Holistic medicine has four ideals: (1) use of natural remedies rather than, or as a complement to, artificial drugs; (2) addressing the root of the problem rather than treating symptoms; (3) treating the person instead of the disease; (4) preventing illness rather than treating it after the fact and promoting wellness rather than the mere absence of disease.

Allopathic or traditional medicine is now being combined with complementary, alternative, and integrative medicine (CAIM) options. The medical systems and insurance companies are responding to patient demand. Let them know of your concerns and desires.

This Directory is also located on our website under Holistic Health at www.dooropenermagazine. com. You will also be able to view some videos where the practitioners speak directly to you about their practices. You will also find many links to state and national CAIM healthcare organizations on our website. See Video at www.YouTube.com/DoorOpenerMagazine
