possession of objects, thus ingraining the belief that having money or possessions is considered to be evil. Nothing could be further from the truth. The key is having balance in your life; using your earned money for good intentions (helping others, donating, being a good role model etc.) while also enjoying the things that make you happy. If, however, you focus only on acquiring material items at the expense of acknowledging the other aspects of your life, then you would be out of balance and the term greedy may then apply. In order for you to be in a position to give continuously

financially, you need to create a sturdy foundation with which to build your financial relationship. Below are some practical tips that may help get you and your relationship with money on its way to a healthy relationship.

Create an Emergency Fund • This varies for each person/household, but a rule of thumb is between 3-6 months of fixed expenses.

Pay yourself first • It is very important to remember you owe it to yourself to save and have a healthy future. It is a true necessity, not a desire.

Remember, even hiding your money in the mattress has an opportunity cost. • Inflation will erode the “safe” money you sock away. That is why it is important to be diversified. It may be helpful to team up with an advisor to help you weather this bumpy road.

Even a solo practitioner can create a Retirement Plan • There are investment vehicles designed for the solo practitioner or small business. So don’t fret if you are flying solo.

Create a plan • Creating a plan and visualizing the positive end results can help create a greater possibility of achieving your dreams and goals.

Prepare for the unexpected • Preparing for the unexpected takes away the fear of the unknown. You have a game plan in place “just in case.”

feelings, return to this visualization and to its warmth, love, and its endless possibilities. Having gratitude and being thankful are integral components for getting you where you would like to be. Recognizing you are where you are for a reason and releasing the tension and worry will open you up for receiving what you truly desire. Remember, the life we live is full of abundance and you alone create your reality. Your decision from this point on will determine whether or not you will allow worry to create your relationship with money.
