goals. A lack of details from the private gaming companies, compared to unfettered access to the public companies, skewed the results unfairly. So we changed tack. Asking for comparable statistics, quizzing companies
about the same topic areas and gaining as much relatable information from each employer as possible.
The results in this month’s issue present the widest survey of the employment sector within this industry that has ever been undertaken - but it’s just the start. We concentrated on the slot manufacturing sector (though we strayed a little in conversation with different companies), but would like to broaden the scope to include all manufacturers as part of an annual review, while dedicating a new category for operators over the summer months.
What’s been fascinating compiling the feature has been the conversations with employers who want to ensure their teams are motivated, incentivised and above all - are having fun. Every respondent emphasised this aspect of the job. Entertainment runs through the core of the gaming industry, which is why working in gaming is such a blast.
