at Aquasphere, said: “LIW has created some very high quality leads for us, with the potential to get some great new accounts for the near future. This is the fifth appearance for Aquasphere and this year we had a great location, enabling us to show the demonstrations to the public, which went very well.” The company will show new
innovations to the market to enhance the swim experience for everyone, from fitness swimmers and water aerobics participants to competition swimmers and outdoor enthusiasts. Products on show from Aquasphere will include award winning goggles and masks, high performance chlorine resistant swimwear and innovative aqua aerobics products. Other specialist companies are
equally hopeful for the 2010 event. The new look and structure within
the Swimex stable of pool enclosure companies will be LIW. Visitors to the Swimex stand will be made more aware that the new structure offers a complete service from design to installation of pool enclosures. The Swimex stable is seen as the first choice for wet leisure projects from residential, schools, health clubs to holiday parks. It offers the complete pool enclosure solution from low level buildings to huge free standing buildings. Four of the biggest names Pool
Cover International, Oxford International, Easy Glide International and Baby Dome International now trade together. In the realm of water quality
control Swan Analytical Systems and ProMinent Controls will be at LIW offering larger pool systems with improvements to their housekeeping on water treatment. ProMinent has been one of the
leading partners in the swimming pool section and has offered comprehensive solutions. Whether it’s flocculation, filtration, pH correction or disinfection – ProMinent systems are interrelated and individually combinable. ProMinent solutions are comprehensive and integral and offer all that is necessary for the treatment of swimming pool water. The product range, starting with dosing stations, via disinfection and
oxidation systems up to water softeners or peristaltic pumps is optimally inter-adjusted. For chlorine-based disinfection methods, the chlorine concentration in the bathing water is adjusted to values between 0.4 and 0.6 mg/l. Swan Analytical UK Limited
opened a new office headed by Mr Joern Boedeker, in Stamford, Lincolnshire to promote the regulation of high quality control systems for water purity in mainly commercial pools. The company says it sees the opportunity at LIW as a considerable one for offering cost savings on water control through technology. Swan is one of the leading manufacturers of online analytical instruments. Every single instrument is made in Switzerland. With energy savings high on the
agenda of commercial pools one of the most effective methods of cutting down on energy use and
hence CO2 emissions in swimming pools is to use a pool cover. The Heatsavr liquid pool cover claims to be the simplest, most reliable and most cost effective type of pool cover available. It is a flexible cover that works by forming a transparent monomolecular surface layer whenever the water surface is not too disturbed. This layer reduces evaporation but
more importantly, with indoor pools can significantly reduce the cost of air heating and humidity control. It suits any size or shape of pool. Heatsavr is a fully automatic,
simple and trouble free system and is available 24 hours per day, unlike a conventional cover which can only be applied when the pool is closed. Topline Electronics UK is back at
the event putting the emphasis on commercial pool water quality and systems and highlighting the Riochem pool testing system. LIW continues to be a priority for the water solutions company which offers a variety of treatment and training support for larger commercial pool management. spn

LIW – NEC, BIRMINGHAM, UK
PlasTiCa aT liW for fourTh year running
Plastica Ltd will be exhibiting at this September’s Leisure Industry Week Exhibition for the fourth year in a row promoting their automatic commercial heat retention cover and reel system. The company are planning to have a working model on display in order to demonstrate its advantages to prospective buyers. The heavy duty cover system has generated much interest and been a tremendous success with commercial leisure companies at the venue previously and Plastica are hoping for similar success stories this year.

Birmingham based Suntrap Systems, supplier of quality disabled lifts and hoists and swimming pool floors are great supporters of LIW and will be at the NEC event again in September. Said Managing Director Janet Cornthwaite: “LIW is very much a case
of us keeping a high profile with the commercial pool sector which always has a high profile at this event. We also tend to see more architects. The profile of LIW suits us because of this. SPATEX is very much more of a nuts and bolts event and I am sure they won’t mind me saying that it deals much more with practical applications and pool equipment. At LIW we have the chance to pitch much more to the corporate, commercial and even private pool sectors and this is where our business needs to be. I also like the way LIW has been developing in recent years. It has been broadening its base and that is important for the pool market.”

TranquilliTy To headline for CerTikin aT neC
Certikin’s stunning new range of Tranquillity wellness equipment will be taking centre stage at LIW. “Since its introduction earlier
last year we have been deluged with enquiries,” says Marketing Manager Cath Saunders. “Many of these came from the last LIW show so we are hoping to repeat its success. “It would seem that the
Tranquillity product is exactly what the commercial market is looking for right now and it’s ideal for refurbishment or new build projects,” adds Cath. “It’s a premium quality range which offers a diverse range of thermal bathing experiences, from hot and steamy to cold and invigorating. It’s as comprehensive as it is unique – as well as the traditional, it includes Experience Showers with special lighting, sound effects and
fragrance, Rasul ‘mud’ rooms and a Hamam (Turkish bath).” Starting with an architect’s
drawings or simply your own ideas, Certikin can work within a given budget to design a bespoke spa experience that is exactly what you are looking for – whether a refurbishment or new build.
