importance of having clear sparkling water to swim in and enjoy and there is an ever increasing demand made on companies to improve on the monitoring and implementation of the testing procedures. Considerable money and time is spent
developing and producing more efficient and user friendly systems. Only the best products and treatments are good enough where there is the possibility of infection and problems lurking in pipes and filters. No one can afford the down time or bad press should an infection be allowed to develop. Due to the large footfall that the hot weather
has hopefully produced at the leisure centres and lidos correct testing and monitoring is imperative to ensure algae, bacteria and general contaminates like cosmetics, sun tan lotion and other easily transported oils and dirt are stopped in their tracks. Recently it’s known that the Health and

Safety Executive (HSE) is concerned that standard procedures for testing water quality in UK pools are not being kept to. It wrote last year to local authority and commercial pools to warn of the dangers and to remind them that improved technology products should be making the task easier.
