uPdate: the latest news from sPata and BIshta
Following the recent round of board, council and committee meetings there are various updates to provide to members. These changes are usually notified to BISHTA and SPATA members via their respective electronic newsletter sent out every week. Some of the items not mentioned elsewhere in this edition are included below
News from BsPf Board
Martin Borley from Tanby Swimming Pools has been nominated for the role of BSPF Junior Vice President. Martin is currently on the PIP Committee and has previously served as SPATA Regional Chairman for the South East. An important date for your diary. Please note
that the BSPF AGM is being held on Tuesday 14 September, starting at 12.45pm. The venue for the meeting is the BSPF offices in Andover.
SPATA AGM
The SPATA AGM is being held at the Andover office on Tuesday 14 September at 2.15pm. The AGM will also include a review of the trade association and an open forum for members to discuss items important to them. Please note that a training session for SPATA
members is also due to be offered at 11.00am and will outline the benefits of business coaching and how customers are the most important element of your business.
PIP workINg oN coNsumer factsheets
The PIP Marketing Toolkit comprises a series of handouts that deliver valuable marketing support to SPATA and BISHTA members. A number of consumer factsheets are currently
being produced that will complement the messages about the importance of buying from a BISHTA or a SPATA member. A marketing toolkit is also under development for members which will comprise a series of handouts that deliver valuable marketing support for companies that need it covering issues such as advertising, press releases and web sites. Factsheets and toolkit handouts will be available soon and members will be notified. BOTTLE PR continue to liaise with the trade and
consumer press to spread the message about our industry and the value of purchasing from BISHTA and SPATA members. The excellent coverage in the Sunday Times recently on swimming pools has been complemented with additional articles being submitted for Traditional Homes and Interiors and also for 25 Beautiful Homes. Despite some lengthy delays in the revamp of
the BISHTA and SPATA websites, the tenacity of Alex Kemsley from Waterstream has been dealing with some issues that we were facing and it is expected that once the work is complete, the sites will become even more interactive and help to signpost more customers to members’ businesses.
BISHTA SEEKS TO OFFER RELEVANT TRAINING FOR MEMBERS
BISHTA works hard to ensure that members have access to relevant training and arranges for courses to be held around the country subject to suitable demand. Regular sessions include water hygiene management and the transportation of dangerous goods. If you would like to book a place on one of these or have a specific requirement then please contact the BISHTA or SPATA office to make them aware of your interest. Please note that places are open to any company in the industry and that other BISHTA member companies provide training on water hygiene management which is recognised by BISHTA as part of the membership criteria. If you have a training room or board room that
can accommodate up to 12 people, please get in touch with the BISHTA office as this may make it easier for us to set up a course in your area. The BISHTA AGM is being held at the Andover
office on Tuesday 14 September, starting at 11.00am. A training session for BISHTA members is due to be undertaken at 2.15pm and will outline the benefits of business coaching and how it can help you grow your business.
