DESIGNER OF THE YEAR
(BUSINESS MEDIA)
Tatiana Okorie
Barclays 360 magazine
Redwood
Barclays 360 has a huge mission – to give coherence to the entire
Barclays Group. Tatiana’s strategy is to support each article with
stunning, quirky photography and illustration, adding elements of
surprise and a sense of richness and warmth to a corporate and formal
brand. 44% of readers strongly agree that 360 provides them with a
better knowledge of Barclays as a whole. In one recent issue, a feature
on commodities looked at how the world’s view of what is valuable
has radically altered. Tatiana commissioned a jeweller to represent
each commodity as a precious family heirloom – creating a butterfly
hatpin made out of lead, for example, and shaping wheat grains into
a brooch. The client responded by requesting that the items be put on
permanent display at Barclays’ head office in Canary Wharf.
The judges said: “This magazine is readable and looks gorgeous.
The info-graphics and data are presented elegantly and the use of
photography and typography is fantastic.”
