The weekly magazine Personnel Today was used to build a substantial
portfolio of print, online and face-to-face products, spanning weekly
and monthly magazines, awards, events, a community website and a
subscription-based online service. XpertHR itself, a subscription service
supplying legal compliance, good practice and benchmarking data
to HR professionals, now delivers more revenue and profit than the
magazine and other brand extensions in the group combined, with
revenue rising 46% year-on-year, and profit rising by a staggering 211%.
Separately, Personneltoday.com attracted a powerful online community
of over 250,000 unique users and 1.4 million page impressions per
month in 2008, and impressively matched - pound for pound - the
loss of recruitment revenue from Personnel Today. A growing demand
for events was also met, with the IRS business conference increasing
revenue by 400% in just three years.
XpertHR has extended its market footprint, developed successful new
products and substantially grown its revenues and profits. The judges
said: “XpertHR showed a radical approach to moving the brand to meet
the dynamics of its market - a compelling and impressive example of
brand diversification.”
