2008 was a record-breaking year for Woman & Home: profits increased
a staggering 20% year-on-year, reaching an all-time high; audited
circulation figures rose by over 5%; subscriptions rose to their highest
ever volume; and the magazine achieved the best sales figures in 11
years, despite raising the cover price.
Woman & Home has successfully tapped into the zeitgeist of a
new generation of 40+ women, who behave differently to previous
generations and refuse to be pigeonholed by age. Innovations and
brand extensions include a series of celebrity covers with a ‘real me’
coverline, a Feel Good Food quarterly magazine and impressive growth
on womanandhome.com. In addition, by inspiring readers to take part
in the annual Ribbon Walks, trekking overseas and coming to fashion
shows and other events, Woman & Home has raised £3.5 million for
Breast Cancer Care - £1.1 million in 2008 alone.
The judges said: “Woman & Home is a tremendously assured product
that really understands and meets the needs of its readers. The
magazine has achieved incredible growth in an impossible market -
a very worthy winner.”
