Due to an optimized construction, 20% of material and thus of weight were saved while maintaining the same functionality of the original cast part. Protection of the environment and continuous im-
provement of the energy efficiency are integral parts of the company’s philosophy. In 1996 Adolf Foehl GmbH + Co. KG was the first casting company in Germany to apply for the ambitious and voluntary EMAS eco-certification and to fulfil the criteria. Immediately after the adoption of ISO 14001 the company initialized measures to apply for and to fulfil this new standard. In addition Adolf Foehl GmbH + Co. KG successfully installed an energy management system and was certified according to ISO 50001 in 2013. ■
