customized software for storage of all production data in- cluding machines setting, production receipts, and a pattern and job management system. Te plant also has an IMF-Foundry Automation core shooter machine with dedicated scrubber for the production of specific sand cores made with amine gassing technology (coldbox). After shakeout, the used sand is automatically processed
through a reclamation tower where the sand grains are scrubbed, screened and cooled in a very efficient way to reduce and control the LOI value. Manpower costs have been drastically reduced; no more than eight workers are required to run the mechanized molding line, and the possible human errors are drastically reduced and the quality and the consistency of the final cast- ings has been increased at a competitive price. ■

IFF in Venice Gathers Metalcasting CEOs 全球铸造行业CEO相聚威尼斯国际铸造论坛
After Prague, Barcelona, Vienna and Paris, CEMA-
FON President Gabriele Galante’s organizers called the International Foundry Forum (IFF) to order in Venice, Italy, this year, within the surroundings of the Venice Lido beach.
Under the motto “Where the CEOs meet,” more than
250 participants from 26 countries came together to net- work and exchange views on the state of the international metalcasting industry and its future prospects. Judging by the number of participants in Venice, this was one of the strongest IFF events of all time. Te topics were appealing, but did not convince
anyone completely in terms of depth of content. Te attractiveness of the IFF is undisputed, yet the guests yearned for a sharper and more defined content of presentations in which all participants in the chain of economic value, economic advisers and the speakers of the BRICS countries would have their say. Te interna- tional challenges are complex, technological development is rapid and markets do not always react as desired. Tere should even be an internationally accredited researcher with a vision into the future to take a specific look at the foundry industry. What remains from Venice? Te greatest IFF of all time doesn’t have to follow an Olympic spirit or grow even bigger in number. Nevertheless, there is no alterna- tive for major players in the industry to meet every two years to intensely exchange thoughts and ideas. Te IFF has once again impressively demonstrated and accom- plished this capability; therefore the organizers and the operating forces of CEMAFON deserve the highest recognition. ■

会议的主题是“全球铸造CEO的聚会”，来自26个 国家的250多名参会代表汇聚一堂，就国际铸造行业 的发展现状和未来展望开展交流和探讨。就参会人数 来看，本届论坛是历届论坛中规模最大的一次。 论坛议题具有吸引力，但是，在内容的深度上是不 能完全满足大家的。国际铸造论坛的地位是无可争辩 的，然而嘉宾们希望听到观点更加敏锐、内容更加全 面的演讲，包括经济顾问、金砖国家的演讲人都可以 发表他们的观点。目前，铸造行业所面临的国际挑战 复杂，技术的发展非常迅速，而且市场并不总是按预 期那样发展变化。因此，我们需要具有未来发展眼光 的国际公认的研究人员来分析铸造行业的发展状况。 为什么选在威尼斯举办呢？国际铸造论坛一直以来 都不是遵循奥林匹克式的精神而不断扩大规模。对于 铸造行业的主要国家来说，每两年举办一次聚会，热 烈地进行交流和讨论，会议地的选择并不是很多。然 而，国际铸造论坛又一次成功举办，给大家留下了深 刻的印象。因此，欧洲铸造设备供应商协会的组织者 和工作团队应给予最高的认可。■
