the area has also created a huge demand for skilled construction workers. The new Scarborough Construction Skills Village was therefore established led by Northern Regeneration, sponsored by Scarborough Borough Council, and supported by industry partners, the developers, and the CITB. The village is training the new construction workers who will help build the Borough’s new future. To underpin all this investment and to
support future economic growth, business expansion and supply chain development, the Council has recently set up two new Business Development Zones at Scarborough and Whitby Business Parks. Targeted sectors are able to benefit from discretionary business rate relief and other support. David Kelly, Regeneration Manager at
Scarborough Borough Council said; “It really is a great pace to be. We are

the rest of the UK are excellent. York is 45 miles away and a short 48 minute rail journey. The traveller is then at the heart of the UK rail network with London and Edinburgh both less than 2 hours away making it possible to be in the centre of either capital by 9.30am. Leeds is 1 hr 20 minutes and Manchester is 2 hrs 15 minutes from Scarborough so the connections are good. Airports too are well provided for with
