Around 150 guests from local and national firms enjoyed drinks and canapes and a fun casino, which raised a lot of money on the night for the firm’s charity partner, Wellchild. Like KBW, Wellchild works nationally but has its head office in Cheltenham. Prizes were awarded for the top three players. Guests were entertained by live music

CHELTENHAM’S NEW LOOK HIGH STREET T
he Brewery Quarter in the heart of Cheltenham’s affluent town centre has
redefined the High Street, completely transforming the town’s retail and leisure offer. Now just a stone throw from the
renowned Promenade and with a welcoming façade on the High Street, The Brewery Quarter offers retail and leisure opportunities which can’t be rivalled elsewhere in town. With purpose built, modern architecture, internal space is flexible so that brands can put their own unique stamp on. It’s one of the reasons why it has
attracted such attention over the last six months, welcoming new deals from the likes of Faucet Inn, Adventure Leisure and The Restaurant Group – along with DW Fitness, upmarket bar/restaurant Cosy Club and SOHO Coffee who are now open and trading impressively. Focussed on drawing in retailers to

new 105,000 sq ft high specification distribution unit which will be speculatively developed, with practical completion targeted for the end of Q1 2018. Western Approach is one of the biggest
industrial locations in the South West and is close to the M4/M5 motorways and high profile occupiers including GKN, Royal Mail, Next and Warburtons. Neil Curtis from Curtis Hall said: “We
are very excited about this rare off-market opportunity to buy a development site in a prime Bristol location. Our research suggests there is a very limited pipeline of high quality warehousing to meet the number of requirements in the current market and therefore we feel confident in pursuing a speculative strategy in this location.” Cushman and Wakefield and Russell
Property Consultants have been appointed as letting agents on the scheme. Richardsons and Curtis Hall were
advised by Stonehill Partners on this acquisition.

A
support the rapid expansion of The Range home retail brand, is one of the largest in the UK at 1.2 million sq.ft. The Range is one of the fastest
growing homeware retailers in the UK, with 140 stores around the UK, and 30 further stores scheduled to open in 2017. The new distribution hub – delivered
by Birmingham-based Stoford - will support ongoing store growth and the expansion of The Range’s multi-channel operations, adding to the capabilities of its e-commerce distribution centre in the Midlands, both managed by logistics group DHL. It will bring 1,000 new jobs to the area. The roles currently being recruited for range from shift managers and general administrators, to stock controllers and picking personnel. DHL and The Range have partnered to provide ongoing training to new recruits to ensure professional fulfilment and in turn boost performance, efficiency and accuracy amongst staff.
complement its now established leisure offering, Martin Commercial Properties Director, Philip Martin explains how The Brewery Quarter’s approach to leisure and retail sets it aside: “We’re in a unique position; many shopping centres are currently trying to retro fit leisure into their portfolio to cater for the modern shopper,

but we have a thriving entertainment offer already here and trading successfully.” “Shopping habits have changed - gone
are the days where a trip to the high street would be three hours of solid shopping followed by a bite to eat at the local café or food court. “Browsing the rails has been replaced
with browsing online, so shoppers often have a good idea of what they’re going to purchase by the time they hit the high street. “They might check out a few more
shops before heading to their favourite restaurant, leisure destination or coffee shop to enjoy some R&R. We’re lucky we have this established destination to offer and can now bring retailers in who want to take advantage of this modern age of High St shopping.” One tenant who understands this
synergy between retail and leisure is The Brewery Quarter’s latest tenant, Cosy Club. Jake Bishop, Managing Director of Cosy Clubs said: “Since opening the Cosy Club in the Brewery Quarter we have enjoyed a vibrant trade welcoming a generously mixed demographic of the locality and from shoppers travelling further afield to discover the catering and leisure facilities Cheltenham has to offer.”
