significantly to the firm’s overall growth and development and now employs eight people, working with a range of clients across the north-east region. Some of the relationships have been longstanding for a decade. But what will the next ten years bring
for Malcolm Hollis and the property industry? All the team studied at Northumbria University and that is where David Cox, partner of Malcolm Hollis in Newcastle, studied surveying and property law too. Cox would like to continue to grow the team in this way, giving opportunities to graduates to develop their careers with Malcolm Hollis, as he has done.

We regularly use local contractors and consultants and it is great to see local businesses benefitting from this investment,” says Cox. Each year, Malcolm Hollis promotes
several people across its 16 UK and four European offices. Philip Hirst and Paul Wharton are senior members of the Newcastle team and have key roles in managing clients instructions, training our graduates and developing business. Hirst is a committee member of RICS
Teesside Local Association and RICS NE Matrics and was shortlisted for Young Surveyor of the Year in the Building Surveying Category at the 2016 RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year Awards. He has also worked with key clients such as Hansteen, Northern Trust and Adderstone since he joined in 2008.
