EVANS PROPERTY GROUP INVESTS IN YORKSHIRE REGION

Temple Green Minerva reception 2

016 is certainly an exciting time to be working on live projects across the

Yorkshire region where occupier interest is strong across all subsectors. Within the offices sector, strong demand cannot be satisfied by the limited supply of quality, ready to occupy office accommodation within Leeds City Centre and as a result, well located Grade A refurbished offices are flourishing. As part of an overall £25m investment programme into the Bond Court area of Leeds City Centre, Evans Property Group has transformed the Minerva and Capitol office buildings to deliver over 50,000 sq.ft of Grade A offices.

We have experienced high levels of interest from both existing and new occupiers and since Minerva has been unveiled, Standard Life Wealth, BNP Paribas, UBS and Gateley have all joined the tenant line-up and existing occupier CDI AndersElite has also expanded into a larger suite. Capitol has also been a success story

have been busy signing-up the office occupiers, work has been progressing well on site at the 95 bed 5* Dakota Deluxe hotel which, along with new leisure units and public realm works, will complete the Bond Court transformation. We are also seeing continuing strong occupier demand and buoyant trading in the retail sector. Our confidence in this sector is demonstrated through our continued investment into the White Rose Shopping Centre where we have a 25% interest. The centre is presently undergoing a significant investment programme to create a 65,000 sq.ft leisure extension which will include a new 11-screen

with the University of York has facilitated the delivery of BREEAM Excellent rated accommodation within the city. Elsewhere within the region, the Leeds City Region Enterprise Zone is making a major contribution to the logistics sector and work is progressing well at the 165 acre Temple Green site which we are joint venture partners with Harworth Estates on. Temple Green is recognised as the largest industrial and distribution development to emerge in Leeds for over a generation and with a £9.1m infrastructure programme close to completion at the site, it will soon be oven-ready for large scale development with guaranteed delivery timescales.

Cineworld Cinema to include a next generation IMAX screen and six new restaurants. The new amenities will complement the existing offering and will ensure that it continues to be one of the region’s most popular retail destinations. Construction work on the extension has just commenced and will complete in March 2017. As a group we have interests within the student accommodation sector and the joint venture partnership between Evans Property Group and the University of York has completed the third phase of accommodation and facilities totalling some 2000 student beds and £100m of investment over three new Colleges at its Heslington East campus in York. This is another sector where we are witnessing continued buoyancy and our partnership
