Beehive celebrates 50 years in business

A

family run company, Beehive Coils was established by Frederick J Bartram on January 29th 1968 in Newmarket. As the company grew in size and customer base, it relocated backwards and forwards between Newmarket and Mildenhall into larger facilities as the years went by, before reaching the current destination in Newmarket in the early 1990’s. Since then, it has expanded its manufacturing capabilities and capacity year on year and is now able to design and manufacture a wide array of diff erent tube sizes/confi gurations to suit any requirement.

Director and grandson of Frederick J Bartram, Mark Bartram said: “For a family manufacturing company which has been running over 50 years to remain as strong and ever present in the UK HVAC+R industry is certainly a substantial achievement in this day and age. I believe Beehive’s continued success

and prominence in the UK market is thanks to the tenacious attitude of both my Grandfather and Father over the years, ensuring that we are company who is totally focused on providing the best service and product possible to our customers at the best price achievable – whilst retaining the incredibly high quality standard we are and have always been renowned for.” Having produced over 3.5 million coil products during the course of its 50 years, Beehive is continuing to signifi cantly invest in new and more advanced tooling, fi n presses, bending machinery along with staff excellence training programs to give them the capacity and experience to design and manufacture many diff erent tube confi gurations in their products ranging from 7mm tube up to 5/8”. 2018 is already shaping up to be a milestone year for Beehive with signifi cant new developments ready to be rolled out over the coming months.

Fujitsu Air Conditioning has demonstrated its commitment to industry training by donating thousands of pounds worth of high quality equipment to Eastleigh College in Hampshire.

Fujitsu’s donation will ensure that trainees are learning with the very latest technologies.

Students, apprentices and local contractors can now learn about the very latest air conditioning systems and technology.

The donated equipment, which comprises a number of the latest fi xed systems, was installed in the college’s refrigeration and air conditioning workshops to help prepare the students for their future careers. Plus, local engineers will be able to work on typical commercial and residential installations, including a new Heat Recovery VRF system that is only available in a few select UK colleges.

There is also a mini VRF system, which is becoming increasingly popular in the residential sector, as well as multi and split systems. Local contractors will also benefi t from the new equipment as Fujitsu trainers will provide training courses in the workshops throughout the year.

Shaun Creech, lecturer in refrigeration and air conditioning at Eastleigh College, said: “We have taken the training we off er our students to a whole new level, which will benefi t those who are starting out in the industry, as well as those looking to progress their career and develop their skills. Giving our students access to the facilities used by professionals is invaluable and will give them a head start for their future careers.

“Kitting out the college with this specialist equipment gives students, Fujitsu technicians and local contractors the skills, knowledge and understanding of what it’s like to work in this extensive fi eld.” Martyn Ives, technical service manager at Fujitsu, added: “The college has established a good reputation for refrigeration and air conditioning, so it’s important to keep students up to date with the latest technological developments. “By donating this modern equipment to the college, students and technicians throughout the industry will be more familiar with the products, helping them with their work both now and in the future.”
