new modular scroll chillers

delivering tomorrow’s efficiency standards today

Samsung

Samsung has updated its wall mounted heating and cooling off ering with two large wall units. The fi rst new unit is a 10kW split system, providing 50m pipe length capability and A+ energy effi ciency. It allows two indoor units to be combined with a 20kW condenser to create a 20kW twin split system solution. Samsung has already received interest from the education sector on the new wall mounted range, where 10kW capacity requirements are typically met by ceiling suspended units. A new 9.3kW wall unit has also been added to the DVM (VRF) range, extending the wall unit line-up. Andrew Faulkner, commercial manager of air conditioning said: “Delivering the best air conditioning products to customers is our number one priority at Samsung. We know that diff erent sectors require diff erent heating and cooling solutions, and we are delighted that our new wall mounted range provides such an energy effi cient solution for the education sector.”

Stulz has launched new chillers with a stepless capacity control (EC compressor) and an output from 20-100 kW. Chillers from the CyberCool Indoor series have been designed for indoor

installation. The new version was specially engineered to precisely adapt to low or fl uctuating heat loads. With a maximised temperature range from 4-18 °C at the chilled water outlet, the CyberCool Indoor is suitable for a broad range of applications. In the data centre, in medical technology or the process industry, It allows planners maximum freedom for individual project specifi cations and customer requirements. The chillers are available with a choice of three systems: air-cooled with external condenser; water-cooled; or the TCO-leader with Indirect free cooling and intelligent mode switching (compressor cooling, free cooling or mixed mode). All three systems can be standardly equipped with on/off compressors or with new energy-saving EC compressors. The Indoor chillers are designed to fi t through all standard doorways for easy installation.

Toshiba has introduced the ESTÍA 5 series air-to-water heat pump. With best-in- class COP ratings throughout a broad range that covers Split solutions from 4-16kW and Monobloc from 16-21kW,

the new ESTÍA air-to-water heat pump brings highly effi cient and low- cost space heating, hot water and summertime cooling to new homes or renovations, as well as small commercial properties. ESTÍA can replace or complement traditional boilers and will work with all types of heating emitters, delivering hot water temperatures up to 55°C. Most importantly, the eco-friendly ESTÍA brings peace of mind and security for energy conscious users, and takes advantage of numerous European heat pump fi nancial incentive schemes. Toshiba´s twin-rotary compressor and Intelligent Power Drive Unit (IPDU) inverter technology precisely maintains heating and cooling capacity with high energy effi ciency at all times, especially at part load use, and ensures long-term reliability. The new 4.5kW outdoor unit for the ESTÍA Split demonstrates outstanding performance in a highly compact chassis. Impressive performance is achievable even at very low ambient temperatures. The ESTÍA Split off ers energy effi ciency with A++ ratings. Its maximum COP of 4.90 at an air temperature of +7°C and 3.01 at -7°C represents true class leading performance. www.toshiba-aircon.co.uk

Trane

Trane has introduced model RTAF G, the latest design in the Sintesis portfolio of air-cooled screw chillers. This new high performing and climate friendly HVAC system off ers

commercial building owners in Europe another solution to help achieve sustainability goals.

Model RTAF G delivers capacity up to 1700kW, a benefi t for most large commercial and industrial cooling applications that require maximum performance within a limited installation space. The new model creates a valuable option for customers who want to transition to a next-generation refrigerant while still maintaining or improving their system’s capacity, functionality and effi ciency, because it uses R1234ze, a near zero GWP refrigerant.

Jose La Loggia, vice president and general manager of Trane in Europe said: “At Trane, we continue to innovate by listening to our customers’ needs, and they want to meet their sustainability goals without sacrifi cing quality, reliability or performance.” Sintesis RTAF G is part of the Ingersoll Rand EcoWise portfolio of products designed to lower environmental impact with next-generation, low-GWP refrigerants and high-effi ciency operation. www.trane.com
