darkness would attract additional attention. The magnitude of change would be medium to high.
29.5.8.2 Significance of the impact 106. The impact of the construction stage of the converter station on this view would be significant to walkers and residents during the short term of the construction stage but not significant to road-users. While it would be seen as an associated extension to the existing developments, the scale and mass of the emerging building combined with the activity of the machinery would make it a readily apparent feature from this viewpoint. These impacts would extend along the PRoW for approximately 100m to the north before the woodland at Gobert’s Grove would screen visibility.
29.5.9 Viewpoint 15 – Church Hill, Burstall
29.5.9.1 Viewpoint description 107. This viewpoint is close in location to Viewpoint 5 and has been included following the recommendation of council officers during consultations in relation to East Anglia ONE project. The junction between the Burstall to Burstallhill minor road and Hill Farm access track presents an elevated high point. The minor road is largely enclosed by hedgerows such that the majority of road-users would not gain views towards the proposed station location. The viewpoint marks one of the few points where a brief opening occurs which affords views out. This viewpoint is representative of the views of road-users on the minor road, although more evident to west-bound travellers and only available for a very brief duration when moving along it.
108. The view looks north-east towards the proposed converter station, and with the existing Bramford sub-station located on this side, it forms a more prominent feature than in views from the other directions. A more limited number of pylons are visible although the pylon in the left of the view carries a transmission line close to the viewpoint.
109. The plateau landform appears flat and in combination with the enclosure of surrounding woodland and tree cover, limits the extents of the view. An overgrown hedgerow blocks out the view to the west, while to the fore of the sub-station, tree cover partially screens the lower parts of the structures. Pylons are seen set along the skyline, although visibility of their full extents is reduced by the woodland cover, and this also helps to moderate their perceived scale. While the woodland adds
