Monthly abundance estimates for the East Anglia THREE 4km buffer are presented in Appendix C, as is the raw count data and confidence limits for the monthly abundance estimates.

Of the 29 great skuas recorded in the East Anglia THREE site and 4km buffer, one was recorded sitting on the water and 28 were observed flying (Table 5.14). A total of 29 great skuas were recorded, one was observed sitting on the water and 28 were observed flying (Table 5.14). Of the flying birds, six (21%) were recorded flying at potential collision height (Table 5.x).

Although the set of data on this species is limited all observations occurred in only two months (September and October), meaning the results are more meaningful. The rose diagram in Figure 5.4 below indicates a westerly and southerly direction of flight for birds flying through the proposed project site and 4km buffer. The single map of spatial distribution from across all months (noting that observations only occurred in September and October) is presented in Appendix 8, with a noted bias of birds towards the eastern site boundary and 4km buffer.
