BetConstruct Declares Open Season at ICE as Spring Gives Way to the Garden of Freedom

Spring, the platform launched at last year’s ICE, was in full bloom on the lush and foliage-friendly BetConstuct stand, where the Garden of Freedom theme was hiding an industry first amongst its hedges, trees and general shrubbery

Te freedom theme was reflecting the huge news that the core of BetConstruct’s Spring Platform would be released as open source in 2016 as part of the aptly named ‘open source initiative’.

“Opening the core of our Spring platform and allowing our partners to build on it is a first in the betting industry,” said BetConstruct’s Paul Davison. “We have always taken a very collaborative approach in terms of building websites with our partners and now we’re doing the same with our platform. With open source access to the code, our partners will be able to take the core and add elements of their own to differentiate their offering and build a unique player experience. Tis greater degree of freedom and flexibility is something the industry wanted and something we’re delighted to offer. In essence we will create a community platform for gaming developers and allow them to implement their own ideas and experiences.”

Te company is also making Spring Platform’s Swarm API public on a dedicated API gateway, designed for developers worldwide. As part of the open source initiative BetConstruct will release fully commented and documented source code to allow developers to modify and extend the code base. Additionally,

Via this initiative, BetConstruct will allow operators to build their own unique capabilities that can differentiate them in the marketplace, and provide development efficiency and scalability through the use of community code and the ability to employ third party systems integrators.

“All interface code needed to connect the Gaming Management System with other gaming products will be made open source. Tis means that by using these open platforms, developers can build their own software-as-a-service application and connect to BetConstruct’s infrastructure. We will also set-up an online communitywhere developers share ideas and ask each other questions,” said Mr. Davison.

Te success of Spring has even surpassed BetConstruct’s expectations. It provides a single gaming management environment that supports multiple products. Tis environment carries out a range of management functions covering player management, accounts, payment systems, back office users, permissions, currencies, languages, main reports and business performance.
