Novomatic Smashed its own Records at ICE

Bigger and bolder than ever and with star power playing for their side, Novomatic headlined the ICE Totally Gaming show in London with a gladiatorial performance

Novomatic participated at ICE 2016 with a new record number of 22 exhibiting group companies spanning a surface area of over 4,500sq.m, breaking its own record of producing the largest exhibition booth in gaming show history.

“As a global full service provider, the scale of this trade show participation is consistent with our strategy of covering all segments of the gaming industry”, said Novomatic CEO Mag. Harald Neumann at ICE in London. Te offer at the Novomatic exhibition stand ranged from casino equipment, systems and cash management solutions to arcade and pub products as well as sports betting, lotteries and online, mobile and social gaming.

According to Mr. Neumann, the preliminary figures for the financial year of Novomatic AG will break through the threshold of two billion euros for the first time. Together with the two Swiss sister holdings Gryphon Invest AG and ACE Casino Holding AG, the Novomatic Group will increase its accumulated total turnover to around €3.9bn. “In the course of the current financial year and due to the changes in the regulatory framework in Germany, we will enhance our presence as an operator with the acquisition of further venues in this important market. In addition, we also intend to expand our market share in further key markets such as the UK and Spain through acquisitions,” said Mr. Neumann.

“In addition to continuous product innovation, Novomatic will focus on an even more intensified diversification of its business activities in the future. For example Novomatic Lottery Solutions has been able to quickly and successfully establish an excellent position in the international lotteries business,” explained

Mr. Neumann. “Novomatic Sports Betting Solutions was established in 2015 as an umbrella brand for all sports betting activities of the Group in the international B2B segment. NSBS companies offer Omni-channel sports betting solutions for the management of self- service terminals and tills in the land-based segment as well as secure online and mobile sports betting solutions for discerning operators in various countries in Europe.”

Mr. Neumann further explained that one of the key focuses for the Group, in addition to the relocations of Novomatic facility in the US from Florida to Chicago, is the creation and adaptation of games for the US market, with expectations that the company will also build its presence at US trade shows taking place in 2016.

No further updates were available as to the acquisition of Casinos Austria, with Mr. Neumann simply adding that Novomatic is waiting on the approval of the competition authority in Austria before the company is able to conclude the purchase of its 40 per cent stake in Casinos Austria. “We believe Casinos Austria presents a huge opportunity not, just in casino operations, but in VLTs and Online too,” stated Mr. Neumann.

SMASHING THROUGH NEW BENCHMARKS Another milestone for Novomatic was passed on

October 15, 2015, with the company awarded an investment grade rating by Standard&Poors of ‘BBB’ and a stable outlook. Mr. Neumann highlighted this landmark for the Austria giant at the ICE show: “Tis investment grade rating reflects our solid development in recent years and is a crucial step for the further strengthening of the international position of Novomatic. Tis makes Novomatic the best rated

gaming technology group in Europe and one of the top-rated companies in Austria.”

He added: “Last year, 2015, was an incredible year for Novomatic, but we believe that 2016 will surpass even this achievement. In 2016, the company will undergo a rebranding exercise, replacing Austrian Gaming Industries with Novomatic Gaming Industries in Q1 2016, harmonising all elements of the supplier side of the Novomatic Group of Companies.”

As Mr. Neumann concluded the corporate update, it was the responsibility of Novomatic’s Chief Technology Officer, Tomas Graf, to introduce the newest incarnations of Novomatic’s VIP family, with large format screens mated to supremely comfortable Patir Design chairs for the ultimate gaming experience. “For 2016 the Very Important Player Experience has been augmented with massive additions to the V.I.P. range of cabinets,” stated Mr. Graf. “Where the NOVOSTAR V.I.P. II is already a smash hit on the international casino floors, at ICE we launch no less than four new V.I.P. cabinets.”

Mr. Graf further outlined Novomatic’s omni- channel strategy for 2016, helping operators to achieve their goals across all manner of multi- channel devices. Players will be able to seamlessly switch from one device to another; from terminal to mobile and cabinet play, all from a single wallet solution.
