Konami Delivers a Composed ICE Performance


Te European debut of Konami’s Concerto cabinet was accompanied by a thrilling line-up of in-demand games


It’s a sign of the times when, surrounded by the spectacle of a fabulous ICE show stand-build, filled with the latest and greatest gaming technology and machinery, that the opening discussion concerns a mobile phone recently pulled from a trouser pocket. MyKonamiSlots is a separate and dedicated app produced and managed by PlayStudios, the company that created the hugely popular MyVegas website and presents the latest Konami slots for social gaming consumption and a compelling series of ‘on-site’ tied rewards.

MGM properties in Las Vegas not only add real rewards to MyVegas, but actively promote the site on-property, with signage and zones for MyVegas play. As a result, we’ve seen evidence of a direct lift for Konami games on the floor, as players continue to play and enjoy their favourite game themes both off and on-site.”


Helping to further fuel that demand on casinos floors, and making its European market debut at ICE, is Konami’s latest gaming cabinet, Concerto. Having launched in November following a spectacular unveiling at G2E, Konami has already installed over 2,000 Concertos in US casinos, with customers already placing re- orders according to Mr. Reback. “It’s been great to hit the ground running in the US and bring such an in-demand product to the ICE show,” states Mr. Reback. “We already have our first installs of Concerto in France and Italy thanks to the overwhelming popularity of games such as Dragon’s Law Twin Fever and Chili Chili Fire on the Concerto platform, we’re expecting a huge response following the ICE show right across the region.”


Chili Chili Fire and Dragon’s Law Twin Fever are those rare games that strike just the right chord with players, combining winning themes with great math, crisp hi-res graphics and engaging sound. Add to the mix the striking Concerto cabinet with next generation KP3+ platform and operators have seen a marked increase in player engagement.


Underlining this fact, Sergio Frigerio, Gaming Director at Casino Municipale di Campione D`Italia, commented recently: “Not only do we have access to the very latest Konami video slots, we can use Concerto to highlight classic popular themes like Dragon’s Law. Chili Chili Fire and Dragon’s Law Twin Fever capitalise on the enhanced processing speed and resolution of the KP3+ platform by bringing custom art and animation to each LCD display, from the digital topper down through the DynamicDash button panel. In Dragon’s Law


Twin Fever, the topper animates through the game logo and character art with a glimmering gold backdrop as star trigger symbols twinkle in and out of the foreground. Meanwhile, a dual- screen attract has the game’s twin dragon characters winding up through both screens as the button panel illuminates with a gold dragon extended across the display. Similar ingredients are found in Chili Chili Fire, but in a manner that reflects the theme’s unique Latin flavour. Chili peppers dance overhead in the topper and lay across the button panel with festive patterns and bold colours.

Konami has an aggressive pipeline of additional KP3+ games currently in approvals and production, including a standalone progressive game that was shown at G2E Las Vegas last October. With Concerto’s KP3 platform compatibility, however, operators also have access to a myriad of proven Konami game themes that casino players worldwide will recognise and enjoy.
