Aristocrat Europe Managing Director, James Boje, pictured with Lightning Link ‘Big Play’ Brings Multiple Lightning Strikes for Aristocrat at ICE 2016

Following in the footsteps of globe-trotting super-bands, Aristocrat’s ‘Big Play’ continued its international tour at ICE 2016, having brought the house down at G2E Las Vegas with an amazing performance from a stellar product line-up

Building on the success of ICE 2015’s Helix cabinet launch, the EMEA release of the Arc Double cabinet, together with the new Arc Single and Behemoth cabinets – the latter with an awe-inspiring 84ins. HD display, emphasised the dedication and focus Aristocrat is investing in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) market place right now.

Speaking to James Boje, Managing Director for Aristocrat EMEA, he explained: “Tere has been a great deal of anticipation surrounding the launch of both the Arc Single and Arc Double products, which build on the success of the Helix cabinet that has been performing exceptionally well for us right across the region. Currently we have Arc Double installed in France and Monaco and the Behemoth cabinet has just passed market approvals in unregulated Europe. In combination with Arc Single, our platform strength has never been stronger and the game portfolio is showing we have the top performers in the market too, with a strong pipeline of great games going forward.”

Te Aristocrat stand at ICE, engulfed by an enormous video wall, was crisp and clean, with a streamlined design that helped draw attention to the sheer variety and quality of gaming product on display. Amongst Te Walking Dead, Game of Trones and Britney Spears licensed titles and the myriad large format cabinet innovations now being prepared for roll-out in Europe and Africa, the obvious highlight was the player-selectable, multi-denomination link progressive, based on Aristocrat’s formidable J*Series - the Lightning Link.

G3 featured an article in our February ICE show issue from Lightning Link game designer, Scott Olive, which was a fascinating insight into the

creation, delivery and performance of a game that has reached epic proportions in its native Australian market, and where record sales of the game have been enjoyed by all. It was exciting to see Lightning Link in Europe, having been described by operators in Australia as simply unbelievable. Mark Mackay, Chief Operating Officer at Jupiters Casino, Gold Coast, told us: “What I’ve seen with that product in the first few months, I’ve never seen in the last nine years.” A sentiment echoed by Joe Kelly, General Manager of Arana Leagues Club: “In 23 years in the business, I have never seen a product like this.”

Matsui Europe’s Managing Director Dave Holt said: “Matsui Gaming Machine is very excited about the deal with Walker Digital Table Systems. It was only signed in November last year. Away from that we’re showing our full range of chips, plaques, layouts, playing cards and table accessories.

“Whilst Europe hasn’t seen the same number of new casinos as in recent years, we’ve seen a lot of groups expand. Our most recent deals have seen us supply layouts in Poland and Switzerland and closer to home with Te Hippodrome in London.. Many casinos in Hungary and Poland are now using Matsui chips. We’ve also been supplying a lot of chips to Princess Casinos who operates in Belarus, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Slovenia and Romania,” added Mr. Holt.
