Crafting the Future of Casino Chair Design

Germany’s Patir Design showcased its latest catalogue of gaming chair creations at ICE Totally Gaming 2016, including its thrilling range of VIP integrated designs

Patir Design showcased a stunning range of chairs at the ICE show in London, including the show-stopping VIP collection, all conveniently collated in a brand new catalogue, designed by the Germany-Based firm’s Dennys Patir.

“Patir Design pioneered the VIP concept, placing buttons and speakers into a casino chair designed to create the most comfortable and luxurious experience for the player” states Mr. Patir. “Te concept has struck a chord with operators and changed the way that casinos chairs are created in harmony with gaming machines.”

With every new creation Patir manages to retain the distinctive Patir style, not just in the characteristic curves and distinct lines and shapes, but also in the use of unique high quality materials. It’s this blend of craftsmanship and hi-tech components that have been captured in the latest brochure, designed by Mr. Patir and launched at the ICE show.

“Te fantastic feedback we received from many customers confirms that we did a good job and we are looking forward to another year full of exciting challenges,” confirmed Mr. Patir.

Microgaming was pioneering the future with its amazing CRYO lab

In harmony with the Technopolis theme at the show, Microgaming showcased its vision of the future at ICE 2016. At the heart of the ExCeL centre, at the N5 entrance, Microgaming created an ultra-futuristic CRYO lab to demo its work in wearable tech. Visitors could first play with Microgaming’s augmented reality markers, bringing characters from Hot as Hades and Avalon to life using 3D technology. Once inside the CRYO lab, greeted by lab technicians, show attendees could experience the reality-altering prototype and award-winning, VR Roulette.

VR Roulette uses the Oculus Rift DK 2 headset with Leap Motion 3D Controller to track a player’s hand movements and then project them into the 3D world, transporting players to a roulette table in outer space. It was built by Microgaming’s research and development team to study the immersive potential of 3D technology in the online gaming industry.

Back on the stand, Microgaming was celebrating the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS certificate for the ‘Largest jackpot payout in an online slot machine game’. On the opening day of the show, the record-breaking player, Jon Heywood, who won the GBP equivalent of €17,879,645.12 from a 25p spin, attended the certificate handover.

We also made some big announcements at the show, including a new licensing agreement with Universal Brand Development for Jurassic World, and the signing of Grosvenor Casinos for both the MPN and Quickfire. Tere was more good news when PKR signed a landmark agreement for our poker and casino software.

Te MPN is one of the few poker networks growing month-on-month, year-on-year, and there are more signings to come.

Equally busy was the Microgaming bar, a tradition at ICE. Networking opportunities aplenty, the Microgaming bar is known as the meeting spot, and serving drinks and food all day, it fuelled attendees for the hectic show days! ICE certainly sets the scene for the year ahead, so we should be in for an amazing 2016!

Te EGC range offers sharp, full colour graphics that can duplicate almost any photo or sophisticated design with exacting precision and are ideal for all game types.

Maricela Maciel, Executive Director of Global Marketing, said: “Our layout offerings have been available to our European client base, but we are now producing layouts out of our France location. Tis allows us to provide customers with our popular and durable layout offerings at a much more market competitive price as well as providing faster order turnarounds.”

GPI’s newest innovative line of gaming currency, the B&G V-Series, has provided the company’s customers with a currency option that uses a proprietary and interchangeable mold system for expanded mold design options. Beginning with the foundation of the chip, the V-Series was developed with a new, innovative and highly durable injection material formula. Te chips offer the same color options and wide range of chip and decal security features as the original B&G JAV line of chips. Ms. Maciel said: “When you take into account the number of properties to which we supply casino chips and then the number of cash and non-negotiable chip sets that each has, we knew it was vital to develop additional currency options to meet their growing needs.”

GPI’s 3-in-1 UV meanwhile is a security taggant that is added to the chip material. Te taggant remains invisible under standard UV wavelengths, but is revealed with a special device. Because 3-in-1 UV is in the chip materials, it is easy to validate chipswhen placed in stacks or racks. SecuriFilm is used on a chip’s decal and features a semi-transparent hologram-like effect and can easily be authenticated at the table.

GPI also demonstrated its new SMART RFID technology offerings. SMART offers customers with the latest advancement in casino currency RFID technology at a lower price point. GPI is the exclusive provider of all the necessary components, which include SMART RFID currency, SMART antennas and readers.
