velodrome cycling. Online operators will be able to offer players Virtual Sports immediately though Playtech’s Geneity sports book, via a non-Geneity sports book and through direct integration. Retail operators have the option to integrate via Videobet, install a direct software solution using existing hardware or provide players with mobile solutions for all devices. Playtech is also analysing market demand for Formula 1 racing, American and Asian sporting products, and is adding further language options to its sophisticated commentary that already boasts English, Spanish, Finnish and Italian.

The level of detail invested in the creation of Playtech’s Virtual Sports may seem a little extreme, but in creating not only individual players, but recognisable play styles that are mapped to identifiable participants on court, pitch and course, those looking to place a bet can pick out their favourites from a library of characters they’re able to follow through a league or championship. The combination of GTS’ sports- betting simulation expertise with Weedi’s movie-quality animation is a formidable one. As Weedi’s Tim Wright (who was in charge of production during the Leavesden shoot) explained, Playtech has identified over 280,000 different possible outcomes within a game of football and is recreating these scenarios to in order to recreate the reality of the sport.

“We are recreating each sport down to the finest details,” explained Mr. Wright. “We are recreating not just the actions on the pitch, court or course, but also the focal length of the cameras used in the TV coverage, the positioning of the microphones on the court that recreate the specific sounds from the game and the lighting that immediately tells you what time of day the match/game/race is being played.
