AGEM INDEX


The AGEM Index fell to 192.28 in June 2015, which represents a decline of 4.70 points (-2.4 per cent) compared to the prior month. The latest performance represents the second consecutive month-to-month decline after the composite index fell 3.70 points (-1.8 per cent) in May 2015. Despite falling in recent months, the AGEM Index witnessed its fourth consecutive year-over-year gain in June 2015, rising 6.94 points (+3.7 per cent).


During the latest period, five of the 13 global gaming equipment manufacturers reported gains in stock price. However, most of these gains were relatively modest, with four up by less than three per cent. The one standout was Daktronics, Inc. (DAKT) that pushed north 10 per cent. Of the eight manufacturers that reported declines in stock price, one was down by 17 per cent, while another fell 36 per cent.


AGEM is an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, and components for the gaming industry. The Association works to further the interests of gaming equipment manufacturers throughout the world. Through political action, tradeshow partnerships, information dissemination and good corporate citizenship, the members of AGEM work together to create benefits for every company within the organization. Together, AGEM and its member organisations have assisted regulatory commissions and participated in the legislative process to solve problems and create a positive business environment.

MEMBERS NEWS AGEM KEY BOARD OF DIRECTORS ACTIONS:


l Following the passing of SB9, allowing for variable-payback percentages on slot machines in Nevada, the Gaming Control Board hosted its first public workshop at the end of June. At this meeting AGEM submitted proposed language that came from its working group focused on the regulatory process. Although there is a significant gap between what suppliers want and what GCB will allow, both sides are confident a compromise will be reached. Another workshop will be held on August 5th to present updated language to be considered.


l Earlier this year, AGEM pledged $125,000 over two years, to support the International Center for Excellence in Gaming Regulation at UNLV. The Institute has confirmed the all important appointment of an Executive Director is almost complete. AGEM representatives will participate in the final interview process of two or three candidates.


l AGEM members agreed a sponsorship of $30,000 to support the G2E Chairman’s Reception. This popular event will likely include the annual Gaming Hall of Fame event. Details will be confirmed in the coming months.


l AGEM made a donation to support the Celebration of Peter Mead’s Life event, following his untimely passing last month. Founder and publisher of Casino Enterprise Management, Peter was an extremely well liked and popular figure in the industry.


l The Problem Gambling Center in Las Vegas has once again secured the support of AGEM with an annual contribution of $50,000.


EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES


l Three companies were voted in as members of AGEM at the recent monthly meeting. BetConstruct, a betting and gaming software and service provider, Axiomtek, offers standard off-the-shelf embedded and all-in- one gaming boards and Randstad Staffing, the third largest staffing organisation in the US. This brings the total number of members to 144 companies.
