Impact on society The World Wide Web and the internet has revolutionised the way we communicate and access information. It has no controlling company and anyone can contribute. This has provided us with many benefits but also has had some negative impacts.

6.3 Major discoveries and inventions
Many of the major thinkers in science were not model students in school. Isaac Newton was described by his teachers as ‘idle and inattentive’, and Thomas Edison skipped school regularly! However, they were very creative thinkers and did not accept information without questioning it.
