Webster Grove High School Concert Choir Sco Kinworthy, Conductor

3:15 p.m.

Concert Choir is one of the oldest organizations in the history of Webster Groves High School. It is a seventy-two member auditioned ensemble meeting in three separate class periods. Smaller class sizes allow students to receive more individual instruction and coaching. Concert Choir meets after school twice a month to practice as a complete ensemble. This ensemble is made up of freshman through senior boys and junior through senior girls. Concert Choir first made an appearance at MMEA in 2006 and was the first performing ensemble in the history of the school to perform on a state convention.

Scott Kinworthy is in his nineteenth year as a choral director and in his fifteenth year at Webster Groves High School. Prior to accepting the position with Webster Groves, he taught for four years at Mehlville High School and Oakville High School. In 1998, he earned his Bachelors in Music Education from Missouri State under the direction of Dr. Guy B. Webb. In 2002, Mr. Kinworthy earned his Masters of Music Education; with an emphasis in choral conducting from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. This is Mr. Kinworthy’s third appearance at the Missouri Music Educator’s Conference.
