The 2017 conference will feature technology sessions that both build from the 2016 conference and provide new educational opportunities for conference participants. Energize Your Classroom with Game Changing Technology Renee Tarczon; Romeo Music Thursday, January 26 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Enhance your music program while motivating and engaging your students with easy and affordable technology. Renee Tarczon will share successful classroom practices with technology integration that educators can begin using instantly. The session will highlight online applications such as “Sight Reading Factory” and “Breezin’ Through Theory” as well as practical applications for audio and video recording.
Bring the Clinician to Your Classroom Using Video Conferencing Mark Doerffel; Grand View University Thursday, January 26 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Ensembles benefit from feedback gained from guest clinicians. What do you do when either time, resources, or distance prevent you from inviting a clinician to your classroom? Use Skype (or any other free video conferencing services)! The presenter will offer practical advice on how to best utilize technologies and overcome obstacles, as well as checklists for the music teacher to follow to ensure the best possible “visit” for the students and clinician.

Join Matt McKeever, technology specialist, for this informal “show and tell” session on valuable and useful music software and apps that are working and have proven successful in music classrooms. The students selected as winning composers in the third annual MMEA Electronic Music Composition Contest will be recognized at this ceremony. Their compositions will be played for the audience. When possible, their teachers will join them.
