BUCHAREST INTERNATIONAL JAZZ COMPETITION

A whole week dedicated to jazz...concerts, jam sessions and workshops, at the end of which, the best artists of the new generation of jazz will be known. BIJC is ranked as the second jazz contest in Europe and the third in the world. Dedicated to professional musi- cians, the event successfully debuted in 2007, registering an unexpected participation for the first edition – 30 bands from 25 countries. The trend was maintained, the popularity of the event increasing significantly, rightfully earning the title as the most visible and strong competition in the region.


RECORDING FESTIVAL SUBMISSIONS

Recording Festival is an opportunity that will give 3 talented bands/artists the chance to spend two weeks in May 2017 recording at the beautiful residential studios of The Grouse Lodge Studios, Ireland, where the likes of Michael Jackson, Snow Patrol, Bonnie Raitt, Muse, Manic Street Preachers and many others have laid down great records. Winning artists will be working with a team of four excellent producers & engineers: Grammy-winning Cameron Craig, internationally sought-out producer Filippo Gaetani, and Canadian- based Jordan Zadorozny. Artists of all genres are welcome to apply. Winners receive 14 days free recording, round trip flights, lodging, and HD filming of the recording sessions.

Exchange, and Long and McQuade Musical Instruments present Queen City Rocks 2017. “We’re genuinely interested in helping to bring the Regina “scene” together, fostering communication and collaboration between acts and strengthen the community as a whole.” There will be up to 5 run-off perfor- mance weeks. The band scoring the high- est total of points during their run-off will instantly win a $500 gift card from Long and McQuade, and advance to the Grand Finale on April 13/17. The overall winner will receive thousands of dollars in prizes.


YAMAHA CANADA “KEYS TO THE JUNOS” SONGWRITING CONTEST

Yamaha is giving songwriters a chance to win tickets, lodging and airfare to The 2017 JUNO Awards and events. CANADIAN SONGWRITING COMPETITION

The inaugural CSC has 14 categories for songwriters to enter, including youth and live performance. SAPPYFEST 12

SappyFest is a little independent music festival produced annually. The SappyFest Mainstage site is a combination of two large tents, beer garden, merch market and uncovered open space with a capacity of 2000. The site is lo- cated in the heart of downtown Sackville, clos- ing down the main commercial thoroughfare while creating a vibrant, high-profile epicentre for the festival. The festival was founded in 2006 by the good people of Sappy Records.
