RECENT EVENTS REWIND
In 2013 the label aquired the viennese label Problembär Records and with its first release in the Seayou Family the label received double Platinum (Amore by Wanda). Furthermore over the years many Proj- ects and Artists within the Seayou Family received several Amadeus Awards (Austrian Music Awards). Seayou Records is not only focused on Austrian musicians, but has signings spread all over the world.
Ro Cemm, The Line of Best Fit, London UK: Ro is an associate editor of UK based site The Line Of Best Fit. Since 2009 he has curated the Oh! Canada series which has featured over 800 Canadian artists on over 30 downloadable and streamable compilations. For 5 years he worked alongside CIMA and other Music Industry Associations promoting Ca- nadian showcases across Europe and North America. He was part of the team behind Canada Day celebrations in London, Paris and Berlin. Since 2006 Ro has worked with the award winning End Of The Road Festival, focusing on unsigned and DIY artists at the festival. He also assisted with founding End Of The Road Records, who released re- cords by Woodpigeon, The Low Anthem, Charlie Parr, Port O’Brien and The Young Republic. Ro is also a founder member of the Europavox Project, aimed at promoting stronger links across the music industry throughout Europe.
Jazz Monroe, Pitchfork, London UK: Jazz Monroe is a music and cul- ture writer based in London. He works at Pitchfork as an associate staff writer. His freelance writings have appeared in NME, Dazed, Paper, Ex- claim!, Dummy, Noisey, the Quietus, and elsewhere.
Danny Simons, Grand Hotel Van Cleef Musik, Hamburg DE: Danny Si- mons started working in the music industry in 1994 the age of 18 and did all jobs from stagehand, local promoter, guitar tech to road man- ager. In 2002 he co-founded the artist management company Liftboy Management where he takes care of German Top Ten Artists Kettcar, Tomte & Thees Uhlmann. Beneath that he became Head of Booking for Grand Hotel Van Cleef Musik in 2005. Here he acts as the European agent for Canadian Artists like John K. Samson, The Winter Wheat, The Lytics, Imaginary Cities, Federal Lights etc.
NATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL AUGUST 9-13/16, EDMONTON AB

www.smfa.ca) report- ed, “To compete at the National Music Festival, musicians have to first receive a first-place standing in a provincial/national class at one of Canada’s 233 local festivals. Only after winning at a district festival, and adjudicator recommendation, may they then proceed to a Pro- vincial Music Festival. They must then win first place at the Provincial level and be recommended by the adjudicators to represent his or her province at the National Music Festival.” Sixty-four amateur musicians across the country ranging in ages 14 to 28 competed in nine disci- plines: voice, piano, strings, classical guitar, woodwinds, brass, percus- sion, chamber music and musical theatre (

The Saskatchewan team and award recipeints included:
• BEAM Quartet (Brendan Catalano, Eric Wong, Anna Wheeler, Megan Bauman): Chamber. Brendan Catalano was recipient of a Spirit Award.
• William Boan: Strings (Violin), accompanied by Bonnie Nicholson • Stephen Davis: Classical Guitar, accompanied by Paul Zhao • Abby Fuller: Brass (Trumpet), accompanied by Maria Fuller. Re- ceived 2nd in Brass, recipient of the Special Brass Award and a Spirit Award.
• Jake Heisler: Musical Theatre, accompanied by Jeri Ryba. Recipient of Special Prize in Musical Theatre.
• Vanessa Klassen: Woodwind (Clarinet), accompanied by Wayne Gibson
• Fraser Krips: Percussion. Winner of 1st in Percussion. • Spencer McKnight: Voice (Tenor), accompanied by Mark Turner. Recipient of 3rd in Voice and Recipient of the Special Prize in Voice.
• Gloria Yu: Piano, accompanied by Kathleen Solose • Saskatchewan also had two choir entries (judged by submitted recording): AVE (directed by Melissa Morgan) and Campbell Spirit Choir (directed by Russ Baird). Campbell was recipient of 2nd in the Richard W Cooke Choral Competition.

Creative Kids has hosted several amazing events in re- cent months, including an India Supper Night, Daugh- ters of Penelope Luncheon, and Creative Idol. These three events together raised over $75,000, which means over 150 children will be able to participate in to arts and cultural activities.
