training Bridging the gap

Eyebrow Embroidery is a standalone treatment created to bridge the gap between clients having to ‘fill in’ brows on a daily basis with cosmetics and without commitment to semi-permanent make-up.

“It is perceived as a beauty treatment and not a semi-permanent make-up procedure,” explains Victoria Scudamore, Director of Eyebrow Embroidery. “This is because it does not penetrate as deep into the skin as conventional semi- permanent make-up, no machines are used, it is effectively done ‘by hand’ therefore a level of artistry and flow of the natural hand is required.”

Eyebrow Embroidery training takes place at the brand’s academy in North Wales. Delivered to the highest standards, the experienced industry trainers will teach you all the practical and theoretical aspects of the technique. The training consists of two variations of Eyebrow Embroidery: the temporary course will teach you how to apply the temporary Embroidery treatment, which lasts for around two to four months, whilst the classic course will show you how to apply a more permanent treatment that lasts for up to 18 months.

University students gain industry insight to support cancer care

A partnership between the University of Warwick and the FHT has supported medical students to understand and consider the use of complementary and wellbeing treatments as part of modern cancer care.

The two organisations teamed up to devise student lectures and workshops at the university, in a bid to identify and encourage better relationships between medics and therapists. It is hoped that the partnership will work to enable patients to get the highest level of care and widest range of suitable treatments during their cancer care and rehabilitation.

The first test pilot lecture has already been delivered, with the FHT experts focussing on rehabilitation and treatment techniques for post-surgery issues, with supporting demonstrations from therapists. A wide range of therapies were demonstrated including acupuncture, massage, reflexology and craniosacral therapy.

“Events and opportunities like these are so important to break down stigmas and ensure that the patient is at the heart

of all cancer and post-surgery care,” commented Jennifer Wayte of the FHT. “Therapists have a lot to offer when it comes to overall patient wellbeing and comfort and it is important that those benefits are recognised.”
