through the official gate The car show consisted of about 80 vehicles displayed in two rows along the docks of the marina. There was a tent for every vehicle to be parked under, and the docks were all carpeted so it would be comfortable for the public to walk on and admire the cars, which were roped-off and secure.

There were very well-designed information signs made up for every car. The official opening started

with the arrival of the Mayor of the town who welcomed everyone and thanked the car owners and many sponsors that were involved. The Mayor also thanked all the restaurants in town that had created a special menu to mark the event. It was also a nice surprise when Miss France appeared

and was introduced to the crowd. Once Mr. Mayor had completed his speech, he announced that the bar was now open and a live band started playing. Our second surprise was that the open bar started with Champagne. After the bubbly, they opened a couple of additional bars serving different wines. Then it was the turn of the hors- d’oeuvres! We were treated to fresh oysters, smoked salmon, cold cuts and different cheeses, caviar etc. This lasted for about two hours and this whole extravaganza was all sponsored and all free. I could not believe it. Cars and car shows have

been a huge part of my life starting in my childhood and I guess you could say it is in my blood as it is for many of us. To attend a car show like this one in France was over the top. That being said, please do not expect to see that anytime soon at my events, although I may try to convince Mayor Watson to do the official opening in the spring of 2017! See you on the streets!
