The Cadillac of Car Shows LARRY WAY
Outdoor car shows happen most
weekends in the spring, summer and fall months here in Canada. Depending on the weather, this is the same in most US cities and towns. We also see what is known as “Cruise nights” which happen most week nights throughout the same months. Car shows traditionally have trophies and awards, where cruise nights are just a chance for like minded car people to get together and talk about their favourite rides. I would like to talk a bit about car

shows. They are everywhere. Some have cash prizes in addition to awards. Most outdoor car shows charge an entry fee
to cover their costs or to make a profit. Many of these shows cater to years or brands of vehicles. For quite some time now I have been
producing my own series of shows here in the Ottawa area. In 2016, I had ten car shows in the Stinson Car Show Series. Most of the shows were all sponsored, all free and open to all makes and years of vehicles. There were lots of door prizes and gifts for participants, compliments of many generous sponsors. I was on a vacation in the South of
France this past fall and was staying in the very small town of Saint-Jean Cap
