LITTLE COOKS
HINTS & TIPS Rocket can be sown every four weeks from April until September for continual cropping.
Rocket can bolt (go to seed) quickly during hot weather, keep the soil moist to avoid this.
To grow individual plants raised in modules
1 Fill the module tray with compost and make a hole with a dibber in the middle of each cell, put one or two seeds in each hole.
2 Tap the tray on the bench to cover the holes with compost and water well.
3 Place on a window sill or light space to germinate, continue to water when dry.
4 Plant outside when the danger of frost has passed, the plants should be spaced around 25cm apart and watered well.
5 If it is still early in the season, cover the plants with fl eece for the fi rst week or until the plants have established.
6 Continue to water rocket - especially in hot weather - and harvest when the leaves are large enough to eat.
