p into the carp world

amazing. Also interesting was the registration, boat check and gladiator games. I think that the most exciting part before the competition was, for sure, drawing the pegs. That year, on the Lac de Orient it was difficult, very few fish were caught. But the next year on the Lac de Madine a lot of nice carp were caught and the next year, 2009, we had the luck with us at the peg draw ‘lottery’. I was fishing with my girlfriend Silvia and we had a really successful start, after two days we had the biggest fish and we were in third place on the fourth day of the competition. But after that came a dreaded day, it was like ‘Black Friday 13th’, with a little bad luck, we lost three fish, got a yellow card, and with some small troubles with our boat motor, we lost a really good position. But we never gave up, fighting until the last minute and we got a good result – 8th in the individual, 4th in the team competitions. It was one of the best sessions in my life. Fishing with Silvia was like in carp paradise! On the WCC 2010 we got a new member

by our team, Silvia with bump, 6th months pregnant and in December Adam was born and we became a real family. After that great event I took a long, five year holiday from carp fishing. So our comeback to the WCC Family

was this year on the Katlov lake with a great third place on the WCC Junior 2015. Look out, we’re coming soon…

A family affair: dreaming of the ultimate Classic

World Carp Classic ... is it the dream? Is it the challange? Is it the test? Yes it is! It’s the dream of every carp

A new runner on the way? Silvia relaxes during some tough carping. It’s never too young to learn how to bait up!

fisherman in the world. It’s a challenge for every one of us, and every year it’s a new challenge. That’s why we love to fish for carp. Every spot or hotspot changes, every session, every day, every hour. It is challenge for the elite of carp anglers. Where can you meet Tim Paisley, Dave Lane, Frank Warvick and other household names every year at the tournament? Because for them, and every one of us, we have changed this great challenge, this great competition into a family of anglers, the WORLD CARP CLASSIC FAMILY event. Testing? Sure, but which test is

toughest!? Testing our physical condition and the most important psychical condition of every of us, like the competitors, like the marshals, like the organisation’s management staff. Thank you to you all, because you make this event unforgettable. Testing our tactics. I think this

is also one of the most important elements, it can make you a winner in last six hours, or even six minutes of the competition. Just like us, we have been battling in the WCC Junior tournament, with exactly six hours before the end without a single fish landed, and a change of tactics and bang! We are landing fish, ending up with a great third place. I can tell you as a father of one

of the WCC family teams, which was a wild card in the WCC Junior event, that felt like a moment when my dreams were coming true. The incredible sunrise over the Katlov lake, with thousnds of fans applauding in front of you. Standing on the stage like a guardian of a great team, a part of the WCC family, competitors Michal Chudy and Samuel Knazsky, captain Silvia Omastova (my girl!!!) and vice- captain Adam Carlos Svec (my 4 year old angel), believe me, you will be in heaven. I was crying. Testing your experiences, that you

have been collecting the whole of your life. Your memories and experiences of the natural world, of your life in the wild and magnificent countryside. Experiences of the weather in all of its different guises: cloudy, wild and windy, raining, thunder, lightning and storms, but after every storm, come the sun.
